Enterprise Risk Officer
The Enterprise Risk Officer manages a team of experience professionals that are responsible for minimizing investment risks within the organization by developing and implementing global risk management reports, systems and processes. This job owns enterprise risk policy and strategy implementation for short term results (1 year or less). This job leads the execution of key divisional, departmental or cross-functional risk management initiatives that monitor and attempt to combat risk across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages implementation of best practices for the organization to control various investment risks.
  • Recommends technology-based tools and product enhancement to perform statistical data analysis more efficiently and accurately.
  • Manages the ongoing model validation processes, along with developing new processes, is in alignment with company objectives and strategies.
  • Advises management on recommended revisions to current risk management framework to better manage and report aggregate global investment risk exposures.
  • Works with functional leadership teams to ensure that the transition to new risk management programs and implemented solutions is smooth and effective.
  • Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation and development of team.

Position Summary:  Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job

  • Serves as the lead for Risk reporting and Analytics responsible for performing and overseeing risk analytics and leading projects, ad-hoc requirements.
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of analytics and machine learning, metrics, and report design in the R&C analytics group. 
  • Partner closely with the TIAA India leadership team to support the execution of their business goals while overseeing data system operations, database development and batch support.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with data governance teams to identify, track and remediate data quality and data integrity issues
  • Support regulatory and audit reviews as appropriate
  • Provide technical leadership supporting multiple programs and initiatives across TIAA’s Enterprise Risk Management efforts.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical and machine learning techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develops and maintains R&C metrics and analytics reporting.
  • Work on mechanism to fully automate reporting and eliminate manual steps in report creation.
  • Coordinates system and report implementations and changes with IT business partners.
  • Assists in the administration of all R&C monitoring systems, including data management, change control, parameter settings, testing and data validation.
  • Assists in system testing and data validation, ensuring complete records and work papers are maintained to document the rationale for parameter settings, the validity of the data sets, and change control documentation.

Skills Required

  • Experience with databases and advanced querying techniques (SQL, PL/SQL) and/or business intelligence report software
  • Python (modeling in Python with scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, pytorch) and Machine Learning
  • Exposure to exploratory data analysis (EDA) tools
  • Experience with project management principles (Agile methodology)
  • Metadata management tool experience (e.g. – IBM Info sphere Governance Catalog, Collibra, etc.)
  • Proficiency/Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.

Functional Knowledge Required

  • Exposure to big data technology
  • Experience in a financial services firm in a compliance or risk function
  • Knowledge of Data analysis methodologies
  • Knowledge of presenting Data analyzed.

BA/BS

Graduate ( Mandatory )

Preferred Education:

Masters

Post Graduate in statistics, data science ( bonus )

Required Experience:

12+ Years

Data Analytics using Python, machine learning, hands-on experience in working with large datasets

Preferred Experience:

8+ years
