Currently, we are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our growing team. The role will partner with the entire accounting team to achieve our common goals, one of which is accuracy in cash applications and cash transfers which will lead to accurate reporting. An eye for detail is necessary and good Excel skills will help. Learn and grow in this collections role working for a great engineering firm.
The Collections Specialist will contribute to our Client Services Group, providing cash application and reporting for specific practice areas and act as a contact person for internal and external clients for projects. They will be a key part of the team working the collections side and cash application, working within the daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines, and producing reports for leadership.
The goal of the role will be to produce accurate and timely work that establishes a center of excellence within the Client Services Group.

Responsibilities:
•Daily posting of incoming lockbox cash receipts, wires and ACH both foreign and domestic.
•Monitor unapplied cash receipts on A/R aging and General Ledger.
•Transfer unallocated or misapplied payments to appropriate projects as requested.
•Contact clients via telephone and email to inquire about the status of outstanding A/R.
•Collaborate with project managers and others in the client services team to resolve issues delaying payment of A/R.
•Record comments regarding the status of outstanding balances within the A/R system.
•Generate monthly aging reports for use during monthly A/R status meetings.
•Generate and distribute monthly statements of accounts/payment reminders to clients.
•Respond to client request for invoices, W-9 forms, and other documentation, or collaborate with other client services members to get proper documentation to the clients.
•Maintain organized files and proper documentation for internal and audit inquiries.
•Assist A/R Manager and Financial team with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
•1-5 years of collections experience preferably in the professional service industry.
•A degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field preferred.
•Familiar with US GAAP, local GST/VAT, and local bank requirements for foreign exchange and payments to/from foreign entities.
•Knowledge of Deltek Vision and Elevia software is a plus.
•Proficient in MS Excel.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to organize and coordinate task.
•Ability to work independently and with the broader team.
•Detail oriented.
