Financial Reporting Associate

Job Description

Position Overview

·       Responsible for investment accounting and reporting for mortgage loans on US GAAP, US Statutory, and Bermuda Statutory bases

·       Preparations of quarterly and annual reporting for consolidated US GAAP (10Q & 10K) and unconsolidated US Statutory as well as annual reporting for standalone Bermuda Statutory

·       Review of investment portfolio activity in the PAM for Mortgage Loans and Precision LM accounting systems and perform related general ledger reconciliations

·       Liaise with mortgage loan servicer and upstream accounting and operations teams to resolve investment data issues

·       Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators related to annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and analysis against actual results

·       Assist with all other SEC reporting requirements and respond to investor/analyst questions and comments

·       Support internal and external audit requests

·       Responsible for maintaining reconciliations and investment accounting information flows with third party assumed reinsurance partners

·       Act as primary point of contact on investment information for mortgage loans

·       Support new initiatives & reporting considerations for strategic transactions

·       Maintain process documentation and improve processes where identified

·       Be a change champion

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience is required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required
• Experience preparing and presenting financial reports is highly desired
• Knowledge of investment types and related reporting would be a bonus
• Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations a plus
• PAM, Precision LM, Essbase, and Wings experience is also helpful
