About the role 
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager. You will play a key role in our financial operations by supporting the VP of Finance in the US in all accounting functions, working closely with subsidiaries to manage intercompany accounting functions, and providing valuable insights through financial analysis.  

 

 

As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making, identify opportunities for process improvements, and contribute to strategic financial planning. As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for: 

  • Follow US GAAP and statutory local guidelines to close the books accurately and on time. 
  • Ensure that all financial reporting is done on a monthly and quarterly basis and is backed up with accurate schedules that you will review, manage and distribute to selected parties. 
  • Ensure that all revenue recognition principles are followed and applied to specific types of transactions, and you will review these applications with the team and the VP of Finance on a monthly basis. 
  • You shall review contracts and ensure that revenue and expenses recognized and realized are based on strict and rigorous interpretation of the contracts.  
  • Lead the audit with auditors of the Parent Company and local subsidiaries in India, Mexico and Nepal. As we expand our global footprint, you will work with local audit and tax experts. 
  • Ensure that the company complies with tax regulations. You will work with third party tax advisors for filing and making corresponding entries in the books to reflect tax assets and tax liabilities.

  • You shall be responsible for all the final foreign currency translation adjustments and provide valuable input on FX hedging strategies. 
  • You will provide detailed Month End Financial Packages which constitute the three financial statements, backup to all key Balance Sheet accounts, Actual vs. Plan Variances (Monthly, Quarterly, YTD), and operational reporting.  
  • Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans. 
  • You will manage a team of accounting professionals and work with third-party advisors. 
  • You will take the lead in ensuring that the payroll is being done and reviewing the payroll and the corresponding accruals.  
  • You will submit a quarterly control report highlighting areas of improvement in the organization on matters pertaining to internal controls. 
  • While this role will be managerial, we expect that the Senior Accounting Manager will have the desire and the ability to act as an individual contributor doing Bank Reconciliation, AR and AP postings, following up with vendors and customers, and reconciliation of specific accounts.  

Additional Duties: 

  • Make entries on NetSuite (General Ledger, Interco, tax, Accrued Liabilities, Revenue, Expense & Payroll accounting) 
  •  
  • Maintain precise records of all vendor payments, TDS (Tax Deducted at source) 
  • Assemble invoices to be completed for payment 
  • Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence necessary for files & Tax 
  • Follow up on payments with internal and external stakeholders and ensure correct booking of received payments 
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, aging reports, and Statements of Accounts 
  • Track daily incoming & outgoing bank transactions 
  • Support Month End closing activities 
  • Consolidate subsidiaries’ financials for group financial statements reporting 
  • Reconcile revenue weekly with our time and billing systems 
  • Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages 
  • Partner with AR and AP to follow up with clients 
  • Intercompany journal entries and elimination 
  • Comply with Internal controls and lead external Audit 

Essential Qualifications 

  • Typically, 12-15 years of experience in a similar domain or manufacturing/services/operations  
  • MBA/M.com/B.com/BA or an equivalent degree from an established institution or university 
  • Hands-on experience with Indian tax laws applicable to purchase & sales invoices 
  • US GAAP and IFRS experience – specifically related to ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and various types of expense accruals is a must.  
  • Intercompany accounting, Cost Plus Transfer Pricing, Currency translation adjustment is a MUST. 
  • Experience managing end to end accounting cycles with US companies for at least 4 years is a must.  
  • Excellent written and communication skills 
  • Excellent management skills to oversee four associates and work with other teams in the organization 
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities including macros 
  • Have experience in developing financial models in Excel.  
  • Strong month-end reporting experience that includes distribution of financial statements with supplementary notes and variance analysis

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Accounting & Reporting ERP’s – NetSuite & Open Air preferred 
  • Candidates who have worked for at least 4 years in US-based companies. 
  • Revenue Recognition, Intercompany Accounting, Cost Plus Transfer Pricing, FX, and leading audits are necessary.  
  • Financial and Business Modeling experience is desirable.  
  • Notice Period: Preference would be given to immediate to early joiners not exceeding 30 Days
