The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

Processes
- SPOC for the SPOT recon process for GCNA countries
- Ensure the outstanding break is escalated to country on time , reviewed and do the follow up for closure
- Central SPOC for TTO WIP process for substantiation
- Ensure all outstanding issues in WIP is raised with the investment team and R2R TTO team and drive closure
- Maintain the WIP file for risk assessment for controllers team review
- Risk item submission review centrally for all ABDO substantiated byR2R team.
- Responsible for monthly close process, management of books of accounts, accountings controls and accounting operations processes ensuring compliance of regulations, policies and requirements of the “in scope” countries/entities.
- Manage the process for review and recording of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity and continuous improvement in productivity to the standards prescribed from time to time.
- Continually reviewing all assigned processes in order to identify opportunities for quality & process design improvement
- Preparation of white paper supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
- Lead the initiative for reduction in manual journals across the bank by doing a deep dive into the various thematic issues and driving the improvement through various measures.
- Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
- Manage and update on Period Close Accounting and Control activities across SCB.
- Ensuring that continuous efficiency improvement in R2R activities and an established process exists to constantly identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Ensuring All ABDO are mapped into the correct preparer and approver. Unmapped ABDO to be escalated in the correct forums like FORTM and country finance escalation process
- Preparing the monthly MI providing the status of the substantiation to senior management.
- All unowned ABDO are escalated and ensure closure by arriving at the correct preparer approver
- All ABDO is substantiated following all audit assertions in the system validating the supporting documents with adequate reconciliation leaving only the open items with correct ageing and action
- Follow up with the approver for approving the substantiation in FCS system
- All action items to be closed before the quarterly /monthly submission timeline
- Group driven timeline for substantiation. Open items need to be escalated in the required forums like FORTMs and country finance teams.
- Ensure that the standards of customer service provided by the function consistently meet or exceed the requirements set under the Service Level Agreements agreed with the customers.
- Liaise with customers on the periodic review and re-negotiation of Service Level Agreements and any other related performance and quality measures
- Ensure effective systems and procedures for the timely collection of data from all accounting sites and their collation and submission to various recipients.
- Ensure compliance of regulations, policies & requirements of the ‘in scope’ countries and reports and raise relevant risks to delivery by effective communication
Risk Management
- Understand the Group Accounting Policy and the FCSR Standard and Policy in a way that Candidate is able to identify any control lapses that has an element of risk and highlighting/escalating as appropriate
