Job Description

Position Overview

  • Manage complex applications through the design and implementation of strategic initiatives and supporting the BAU activities.
  • Serve as a SME on Apollo’s internal and external middle office systems (VPM and Investran).
  • Work with middle office professionals to understand and produce business and functional requirements and collaborate with the development teams to implement solutions and manage releases/deployments to UAT and Environment.
  • Work with Apollo internal resources as well as application vendors to establish the appropriate development approach, budget and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build professional relationships on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and resolve program blockers as needed to ensure timely and successful delivery of strategic enhancements and capabilities and handle production releases.
  • Create project stories and Business Requirements documents to capture required enhancements and changes for strategic and tactical programs in the trade middle office space and PE controllers’ area. Partner with the engineering and development teams on building and testing these capabilities.
  • Develop end-user training materials and deliver training to a broad user base.
  • Partner with the business to ensure SLAs and other key metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Identify best practices for optimizing efficiencies and system use both internally and externally.
  • Act as an escalation point for support issues and increase in-house functional support resolution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+​ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications.
  • Deep understanding of fund accounting domain, and overall trade processing domain
  • Strong experience with Business Analysis methodologies, such as BPM, use case modelling, user stories, etc.
  • Excellent conceptualization, analytical, and logic skills enabling comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues, topics, and plans.
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and data visualization tools/techniques.
  • Knowledge of OMS/EMS (Bloomberg AIM, Charles River, Eze Castle, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of credit instruments (Bank Loans, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.).
  • Understanding of Private Equity business
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL to analyze and research data as needed.
  • Understanding of Message Processing platforms, Knowledge of APIs
  • Knowledge and experience with reference data management.
  • Adept at listening and soliciting feedback from middle office users and stakeholders.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated while being a solid team player with a strong work ethic .
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity and faced paced environment

Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced degree from a top university strongly desired
